The Centre seeks to consider how the invention of knowledge can create links between established research methods and the curation and display of objects in museums and galleries.
Our current projects include:
-A study of the Museum of the Flat Earth, considering it as both an artwork and as a scientific museum
-An analysis of the museums of Fogo Island, focusing on the concept of ‘archival anxiety’
-An ongoing investigation into geological classification, with particular emphasis on Chert and the systems used by Joseph Beuys
-A parafictional investigation into the disappearance of Dr James Lattin, curator of the Museum of Imaginative Knowledge
-An archival reconstruction, The Last Futurist Castle, focused on the possibilities of heirloom detritus
